# Pushing Images to a Group Repository

Only available in Sonatype Nexus RepositoryTM Pro. Interested in a free trial? [Start here](/content/products/repository-pro/trial/index.html).

With Sonatype Nexus Repository Pro, you can push images to a group repository. To do this, select a _Writable Repository_ in the configuration menu as shown below:

**Note**

Note that you will not be able to use Staging moves for writable repositories that are members of a Docker group repository.

The procedure of pushing images is otherwise the same [as described for a hosted repository](https://help.sonatype.com/en/pushing-images.html "Pushing Images").

When pushing to a group repository, Sonatype Nexus Repository will check existing layers of all members to avoid pushing those layers to save on storage and bandwidth.

If you attempt to push an existing layer, you will get an output that looks similar to the following:

```
9c27e219663c: Layer already exists
```
