# NuGet Repositories

NuGet is the package manager for .NET. Use Nexus Repository to proxy external NuGet feeds, host private NuGet packages, and expose multiple NuGet repositories through a single group URL. Nexus Repository supports NuGet v2 and NuGet v3 repository endpoints and is available in both Pro and Community edition for self-hosted and also in Cloud deployments.

##### Chocolatey Support

Nexus Repository now supports Chocolatey registry with NuGet repositories. Proxy and host chocolatey packages through Nexus Repository and use group repositories to expose them to a single endpoint.

##### Symbol Server Support

Nexus also supports .NET symbol package (`.snupkg`) format and the Microsoft Symbol Server Protocol (SymSrv / SSQP) for on-demand symbol file (`.pdb)` delivery to debuggers. A `.snupkg` is a companion package to a `.nupkg` that carries the portable PDB files a debugger needs to step through source code and see accurate stack frames. Nexus Repository supports symbol server functionality on all proxy, hosted and group repository types.

## Nexus for NuGet

Nexus Repository supports the following NuGet repository types:

- **Proxy Repository:** Supports centralized access to external NuGet compatible feed through Nexus proxy repositories.

- **Hosted Repository:** Supports uploading NuGet and Chocolatey packages and MIME type validated.

- **Group Repository:** Aggregate multiple NuGet repositories (proxy/hosted/group) into one endpoint.

- Supports NuGet V2 and NuGet V3 registries.

- NEW IN 3.95 Supports Chocolatey CLI through NuGet v2 and NuGet v3 protocols.

- NEW IN 3.95 Supports the .NET symbol package (`.snupkg`) format and the Microsoft Symbol Server Protocol (SymSrv / SSQP).

- Supports anonymous access and authentication through username and password, user tokens, or NuGet API key.
