Manage Guide User Tokens

Personal access tokens allow you to securely authenticate external tools with Sonatype Guide. These tokens are required for connecting AI assistants and other integrations to your Guide account.

Accessing User Tokens

You can access personal tokens from your account menu:

1. Select your account icon in the upper-right corner of the application.
2. Select the User Tokens option.

The User Tokens page opens. On this page, you can generate a new token or view your existing tokens.

Creating a Token

To create a token from the User Tokens page, take the following actions:

1. Select Generate Your First Token or the + Generate Token button to create a new token.

2. Enter a name for the token.

3. Choose an expiration period: 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 1 year, or never.

4. Select Generate Token.

A modal appears with your newly created token in an obfuscated format. Copy the token before you close the dialog; you can only view it at creation time.

After you close the modal, the token appears in your token list.

On this page, your user tokens display in a table that includes the following details:

• Token name
• Status indicator: Active (green), Expired (gray), or Revoked (red)
• Created date
• Last used time
• Expiration date

Revoking a Token

To revoke a token from the User Tokens page, take the following actions:

1. Select the three-dot icon in the Actions column for the token you wish to revoke.
2. Select Revoke.
3. In the modal that appears, confirm that you wish to revoke the token.

The token's status updates to Revoked, and the token can no longer be used.
