# Usage limit and licensing

When a nexus instance reaches its 200k requests limit and a license is purchased, will this be mandatory from now on for this instance or just, until the requests have been reduced below that limit? And will a license affect the instance in a technical way, so migrating back to the community version is impossible?

You’re free to purchase a Pro license and then move back to Community Edition if that’s what’s best for you. On a technical level, you’ll need to take a few steps to do so safely.
