# Delete docker image

Hello,

I created a nexus registry for storing some docker images.

I needed to manually delete one, so I did from web interface deleted the folder of the image which contains manifest and tags for this image.

But still space on disk is no being free, I guess nexus still store blobs.

I ran the task “Cleanup unused docker blobs from nexus” but still no luck.

Any idea on what I am missing here ?

Hello Hugo,

You need to run the [Admin - Compact blob store](https://help.sonatype.com/en/tasks.html#UUID-53669de9-914f-58da-0ba3-9e129cd2e3de_id_Tasks-Admin-Compactblobstore) task to free up disk space from deleted components. When components are ‘deleted’ they are only marked as soft deleted.
